What Do the CIA, Soros Foundation and the Kremlin Have in Common?

January 5, 2019

None of them provides financial support to Of Two Minds.

It's probably not much of a surprise that once again Of Two Minds failed to secure funding from the CIA, the Soros Foundation, the Russians or indeed any heavyweight at all. The site’s sole sponsor, the Kroika Cookie and Biscuit Company, Ltd., is unfortunately a fictitious invention of mine . . .

Well, one look at my website will tell you it’s not quite up to corporate sponsorship standards. I can’t tell you much about my brand, except that it’s not approved by the Powers That Be, and it’s skeptical of whatever is currently accepted by the mainstream media as obvious.

Examining things from a fresh perspective is the bread and butter of this site, and the output, if I can use such a grandiosely techie term, are solutions, for both individuals and households and the global systems we inhabit.

Presenting this unique content has resulted in a unique situation: my only sponsor is you.

A surprise for many is that websites such as Of Two Minds need money to exist. I know this is a shocking revelation--isn’t everything not paywalled free on the Internet?

So - how can you support Of Two Minds? There are a number of ways. One costs you nothing but a moment of time: when you find some essay of interest on the site, send it along to your circle of friends and contacts. Helping the site expand its readership is invaluable.

Another is to buy one or more of my books, ebooks or audio books, 21 and counting, all of which are eminently suitable as paperweights and levelers of imbalanced furniture. (Buy a thin one and a thicker one to make sure you have the right dimension on hand for that wobbly table leg.)

If you prefer to avoid the Amazon behemoth, you can order a book directly from me, with the caveat that I’m a lot slower to fulfill orders than Amazon. (Cost is list price of the book plus $5 postage in the US, $10 to Canada.)

A third way to support the site is to become a patron via Patreon or a subscriber/donor via PayPal (see sidebar for buttons), or send money via the US Postal Service to P.O. Box 4727, Berkeley CA 94704. Patrons at the $1 per month level get four special reports a year, plus discounts on my new books that may well offset the entire annual cost of $12 if you buy a few books.

Patrons, subscribers and donors at $5/month or $50 annually get the weekly Musings Reports, chockablock with insightful essays and useful bits of knowledge--any one of which might easily be worth the entire donation, if it helps you modify your life / understanding in a practical, advantageous way.

Many readers pick the $10/month option, for reasons known only to themselves. I am grateful for their magnificent generosity.

As I often note, value flows to what’s scarce . . . so your tangible demonstration that Of Two Minds has value for you inspires me to continue our pursuit of a better understanding of the world.
